Our goal is to provide families with well adjusted, happy, social, healthy puppies to share years of fun laughter and love with.

How we raise our puppies

Our puppies are raised as apart of our family until they become apart of yours.

Our puppies are lovingly raised as part of our family until they become part of yours. We focus on raising happy, healthy, social, and adorable companions—perfect for families.

Early Development & Socialisation
We begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at 3 days old to help improve stress response, heart function, disease resistance, and overall resilience.
From one week old, we start gentle grooming desensitisation: daily brushing, clipper vibrations, nail trims, and exposure to our professional dryer. Baths begin at 3–4 weeks and continue weekly with water only unless needed, preparing our oodles for lifelong grooming.

Toilet & Crate Training
Toilet training begins at 3 weeks, and crate training starts around 5 weeks—giving our pups a great head start.
We now offer to keep puppies until 12 weeks old for families who’d like us to continue their toilet and crate training, making the transition into their new home even smoother.

Diet
Our puppies enjoy a premium diet of Lyka human-grade meals and Petzyo dry food—an Australian-made, grain-free kibble packed with high-quality ingredients and no nasties. Lyka meals are formulated by veterinary nutritionists using Australia’s best produce, lightly cooked for maximum nutrient absorption and real food goodness.

Health & Support
All parents are DNA tested through Orivet or Embark to ensure puppies are free from inherited diseases.
Each pup goes home with a generous puppy hamper, 6 weeks of free pet insurance, and lifelong breeder support.
Finance options are available via Love My Dog Club.

Family Raised
Bate’s Ranch is a full family effort—our children (ages 4 months, 4, 8, 12, and 14) play a big role in raising our pups, making them well-socialised and kid-friendly.

Our Puppies Complete the Bio-Sensor Program
We’re proud that all our puppies now complete the scientifically proven Bio-Sensor Program, also known as the Super Dog Program, originally developed by the U.S. military. This program is based on how puppies learn and thrive and consists of three key phases:

  1. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
Starting at just 3 days old, puppies undergo five gentle exercises that provide controlled stress to enhance neurological development. Proven benefits include:

  • Improved heart rate and stronger heartbeats

  • Enhanced adrenal function

  • Better stress tolerance

  • Greater disease resistance

  • Increased curiosity and confidence

Research shows that only 35% of a dog’s performance is genetic—the other 65% comes from environment, training, nutrition, and handling.

  1. Socialisation (4–16 weeks)
This is a critical window. Puppies that miss out on positive, human-guided socialisation during this stage often develop behavioural issues later in life, including anxiety, destructiveness, or fearfulness. Re-socialisation after this period typically has limited success.

  2. Enrichment
This phase continues through puppyhood into adulthood and includes exposure to new sounds, surfaces, environments, and routines. Enriched pups grow into confident dogs who explore, adapt, and learn more easily. In contrast, non-enriched pups often show fear, hesitation, and may struggle with training—even with excellent genetics.

By completing this program, our puppies gain a solid foundation for lifelong learning, resilience, and well-being—setting them up for success in their future homes.

Toilet & Crate Training Made Easy
We make the transition easier for new families by litter training our puppies from 3–4 weeks old. They’re guided to their toilet area after naps and meals, and our clever Bordoodles usually start using it on their own within days.

Crate training begins once pups are weaned, giving them a safe, familiar space that helps ease the move to their new homes.

Before leaving us, our puppies also start basic training—learning to sit, wait for food, and begin walking on lead.

All our puppies are vet-checked, microchipped, vaccinated, and up-to-date on worming before going to their new homes. Their parents are DNA tested through Orivet and/or Embark to ensure pups are free from hereditary conditions.
