Process Breakdown:
Step 1: Priority Waiting List
Fee: $500 (non-refundable)
Our Priority Waiting List is designed for families who are genuinely committed to welcoming a Bate’s Ranch puppy.
The $500 Priority Waiting List fee:
Secures your position in line for upcoming litters
Is not tied to a specific puppy
Allows flexibility to move between suitable future litters if required
Is deducted from the final puppy price
Priority order is determined by the order in which the Priority Waiting List fee is received.
Step 2: Litter Allocation Confirmation
Fee: $1,500
Once puppies are born, families on the Priority Waiting List will be contacted in order and invited to confirm participation in that specific litter.
To remain active in that litter, a Litter Allocation Fee of $1,500 is required.
This fee:
Confirms your place in that litter
Guarantees a puppy from your chosen litter (subject to suitability)
Is deducted from the final puppy price
Families who do not wish to proceed with that litter may:
Defer to a future suitable litter while retaining their priority position, or
Pass entirely (in which case their position may be released)
If the Litter Allocation Fee is not received by the stated deadline, the next family in line will be offered the opportunity.
Step 3: Puppy Allocation (6–7 Weeks of Age)
Puppies are not selected at birth.
Instead, puppies are allocated at approximately 6–7 weeks of age, once:
Temperament and personality are clear
Confidence, energy levels, and social traits can be assessed
We can make informed recommendations
Families are encouraged to share preferences such as:
Coat type
Colour
Energy level
Household needs
Where appropriate, families may be offered a choice between suitable puppies.
Final allocation is guided by temperament and suitability to ensure the best long-term outcome for both puppy and family.
Step 4: Final Balance Payment
Once your puppy has been allocated, the remaining balance of the puppy price is due.
Final balances are typically required:
After allocation and confirmation
Prior to collection or transport
Full payment must be received before puppies leave our care.
Why We Use This Process
This approach allows us to:
✔ reduce stress for families
✔ avoid rushed or emotionally driven decisions
✔ ensure better temperament-to-home matches
✔ maintain a fair and organised system
✔ protect the wellbeing of our puppies
While we understand the excitement of choosing a puppy early, experience has shown that waiting until personalities are clear leads to happier puppies and families alike.
